Why Do We Read Books?

Why do we read books? Books are toys that give us many good times. They are also tools. Books can be used to learn how to cook or make things or fix things that are broken. One of my favorite things is to read old books. Books that were written long ago are like doors into a different world. In those books we see how people used to think and talk and act.
You can learn a lot by watching videos and by listening to recordings. But there are things you can learn by reading that you can’t learn in other ways. It exercises parts of your brain in special ways.
